SSC holds seminar on “Derivatives market – International Experiences and Planned Model”


The seminar, held on Dec 5th, 2014, under the chairmanship of Dr. Nguyen Thanh Long, the SSC's Deputy Chairman, was focused on disseminating about the derivative securities market and accelerating the development of the related legal framework in line with the roadmap approved at the Scheme on Building and Developing the Derivatives Market in Vietnam.

Speaking at the Seminar, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Long, Deputy Chairman of the State Securities Commission, emphasised that the Vietnamese securitiesmarket has undergone long periods of development and accumulated sufficiently in quantity to have more in-depth development on the quality. Now, Vietnam needs to study new values and concepts of the securities market. Developing the derivatives market is the SSC effort towards that orientation. As a new segment of the securities market, the derivatives market is to prevent risks for the securities market and other fields of the economy, making investors feel assured when participating in the securities market, helping it operate in a more stable and sustainable manner and perform better its the functions of mobilising and distributing capital and determining values.
